There's something about Kathileen Gallagher that immediately makes even a new acquaintance feel like an old friend.Lively and informal, Gallagher - the architect of the University of San Francisco's dance program - bustles with cheerful energy and doesn't look at all like someone who will be retiring this year after 41 years at the university. As the associate professor passes students in the hallways of the Koret Health and Recreation Center on her way to her office - which looks into the newly named Kathileen A. Gallagher Dance Studio - she has a solicitous greeting for everyone and seems to remember, in a maternal way, little things about each student.
